Continuing Education

The New Jersey Funeral Service Education Corporation is nationally recognized for offering quality funeral education programming for New Jersey licensees. Each year, we endeavor to offer a variety of program selections for professionals to meet their licensure requirements. Most programming is accredited for licensees in neighboring states as well.

In any given licensure period, a funeral professional can receive training in OSHA safety and New Jersey mandated topics of funeral directing ethics, preneed and law and rules, as well as many other elective subjects. The NJFSEC offers more than enough opportunities to earn the 10 required continuing education units for New Jersey license renewal. For more information on licensing requirements and renewals, visit the licensure section of this website. The current licensing cycle begins March 1, 2023 and ends on February 28, 2025.

All NJFSEC programming must meet the standards set by its governing Board of Trustees. The Board is committed to thought-provoking continuing education programs for funeral service professionals in many states, working with the appropriate state governing bodies to provide CEUs acceptable for each state.

To find out if a program is accredited in your state, contact your local licensing authority.
