In-Person Continuing Education

In-person continuing education will take place at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Courses will cover important topics in Ethics, New Jersey Law and New Jersey Preneed.

Registration will be available online from Monday, May 4 to Tuesday, September 1. Classes can be purchased individually, or attendees who need all five courses can purchase the Full Day Pass and save $25 on their registration. Registration will also be available on-site.

Lunch is included with all registrations.

If you register for In-Person Continuing Education and are unable to attend you have from:

  • Monday, May 4 through Tuesday, September 1, 2026 to cancel and receive a refund, minus a $50 cancellation fee.
  • Wednesday, September 2 through Tuesday, September 15, 2026 to cancel and receive a 50 percent refund.
  • Tuesday, September 15, 2026 is the LAST DAY you can request a cancellation and receive a refund.

The Funeral Licensing Law, PL. 2025 c. 52, was signed into law on May 8, 2025. This course outlines the changes made by the law, reviews the new industry trends that prompted these changes, discusses the history of licensing in New Jersey and details what students and licensees can expect as the law is implemented.

Explore how ethical lapses in the funeral profession do not usually start big, but small. Attendees will better understand why funeral directors, in certain circumstances, can establish ethical work operations that may reduce the possibility of questionable funeral home practices or wrongdoing, while others display great difficulty in working through ethical dilemmas.

This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the use of life policies to fund prepaid funeral arrangements and the laws that govern this process in New Jersey. The seminar will explain how assignments of insurance proceeds are executed, the difference between revocable and irrevocable agreements and the compliance requirements established by the New Jersey Preneed Act and Medicaid regulations.
